svefn-g-englar
ny batteri
vid spilum endalaust
hoppipolla/med blodnasir
inni mer syngur verlisingur
sæglópur
festival
hafsol
gobbledigook
-----
popplagid

- sigur rós have been at work in their sundlaugin studio in álafoss the past few weeks recording a full length album, which is now nearing completion. orri told morgunblaðið newspaper today that the recordings have been going very well and that the album is taking form as a slower and more ambient record than með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust and takk…. he also describes the music as melodic but much less noisy and more “out there” than previous albums. the album does not have a release date set but is expected to be released sometime next year.

- jónsi is also working on his first solo album. the album will be largely acoustic and feature string arrangements from contemporary classical composer nico muhly. according to nico, jónsi’s solo music can be described as “ecstatic.” the as-yet-untitled project will be produced by peter katis, who has recently produced albums by the interpol, national and tokyo police club. we will bring you more official info about jónsi’s solo album when we have it.

- jónsi and his partner alex have completed their first album together, entitled ‘riceboy sleeps’. the 68 minute album has 9 tracks and will be released july 20th on parlophone records. the instrumental album was recorded in iceland and played solely on acoustic instruments, with appearances by amiina and the kópavogsdætur choir. the album will soon be available to pre-order on the upcoming site jonsiandalex.com.

- kjartan is set to write the original score to ondine, a new film by neil jordan. in addition to kjartan’s score, a few songs by sigur rós will appear in the film.
---> ondine on imdb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1235796/

- a new live dvd is in the works, comprising footage from the band's two concerts in london in november. the concert shoots were directed by acclaimed director vincent morisset, who also shot the “neon bible” interactive video for arcade fire. the footage is currently being edited in montreal and promises to be a nice contrast to “heima“, which had a lot of links to context, time and surroundings, whereas this forthcoming concert footage will be purely performance-based.
as is fairly common in sigur rós land, it will be released when it’s ready and, as such, we dont have any ideas of release dates - but we’re looking forward to it already.

- la blogoteque filmed a really nice acoustic version of 'við spilum endalaust' in paris last november which is definitely worth a viewing
